Frithville Primary School

School Meals

Willoughby Foods provide our hot school meal daily service and all children in Reception, year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free school meal.

Parents must order meals by midnight every Tuesday for the week ahead via the Willoughby Foods portal.

Willoughby Foods were established in 2004 and provide over 2000 meals per day to primary school children in Lincolnshire.  They bring the following benefits:

  • An onsite Butcher Shop with full traceability of all meat.
  • Use MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) approved fish.
  • A Five Star Kitchen Hygiene Rating.
  • Use local suppliers & produce wherever possible.
  • Certification from the County Council that they meet the Food Standards in Schools.
  • Theme days each term.

New parents will receive an email directly from Willoughby Foods with your login details to their meals portal.  Menus operate on a six week cycle and there is sufficient choice to have a different meal every day of the term.  There are four daily options including meat, vegetarian, jacket potato and a packed lunch, along with choice of a dessert or fruit.

When you access the portal, you can select meals for any period up to the end of the six week cycle.  If your child has an allergy or food intolerance, please look at the ‘allergen box’ listed by every meal to see if it is suitable before you place the order.

Willoughby Foods website can be viewed: https://www.willoughby-foods.co.uk/ and they have prepared some helpful answers to Frequently Asked Questions which you can see here:  https://www.willoughby-foods.co.uk/FAQs.asp.

Alternatively, children are welcome to bring a packed lunch.

Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to eat at morning break. Key Stage 1 children are entitled to a free piece of fruit, under the ‘National Fruit Scheme’, and under 5s are entitled to free school milk.
